Our Gut Health Experts - Meet Jetson's Gut Council

When we started assembling our Gut Council, we had grandiose ideas of how we would share the news (think: balloons… confetti… probiotics being whacked out a pinata maybe?). But then, we realized you don’t know what a “Gut Council” is, so we landed on a blog post.

What is the Jetson Gut Council?

The Gut Council is our assembly of health doctors and experts who will accelerate our mission of making Americans healthier by focusing on gut health. And because gut health is overall health, the members of our Gut Council span a variety of specialties – ranging from neurology and dietetics, to rheumatology and pediatrics. We have a doctor to combat probably any medical issue one could face – a luxury I’m sure many of our team members will take advantage of in the form of “Hey Doc - I have a quick medical question!” type emails.

Aside from reassuring Sarah in Marketing that she definitely doesn’t have short term memory loss because she missed a deadline, our Gut Council will work closely with members of the Jetson team to guide our product development in order to drive positive health outcomes through accessible, innovative products that accelerate gut health. So when we say “doctor recommended” what we really mean is, “health experts and doctors helped to make this product.”

In addition to product development, our Gut Council will provide resources, guidance and education to our team and to you, our community. An integral part of Jetson’s mission has been to make gut health and its impact on our overall health something that can be unnecessarily complicated and vague – easily digestible.

The Gut Council will do this by distilling research into easy to understand content that keeps you interested, engaged, and in the know. Whether that be blog posts, Instagram takeovers, Youtube videos… just you wait.

Now for the starting lineup…

Dr. Gillian started her career in health as an organic farmer, then a wilderness educator at the Pacific Crest Outward Bound School. After learning Ayurveda with Dr. Vasant Lad, she knew that the foundation of medicine needed to change. She returned to school, and spent the next 10 years caring for homeless adults in both inpatient and outpatient medical shelter settings, followed by 7 years bringing Functional Medicine & Ayurveda into primary care. Dr. Gillian’s latest shift to the Center for Healing Neurology reflects the focus of her practice on the gut and neurological mechanisms of health: perception, processing, connection and justice.
