Wait a minute…summer ended? Just like that? We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but yes. This summer turned out a bit different than we expected, and we’d be lying if we said we weren’t upset about it.
If you’ve been around for a while, you have probably tried out our Mood formulation before. But things changed this year, and here’s why. Every week, we have a meeting with our SEO guru named Collin, who tells us what questions people are asking on the internet. Then we talk to Erin, the woman in charge of answering your questions personally. Turns out, a whole lot of you want the scoop on probiotics for mental health. Probably because we’ve been locked in the house since March, but that’s just a wild guess.
We had our work cut out for us, but we were up for the challenge – we needed to create a probiotic for mood enhancement unlike any other. Surprise, we did it.
The best probiotic for mental health
Here is what you can expect from this year’s Mood formulation:
Better Studies: The new Mood is the only product on the market that combines the only clinically studied and approved probiotic for mood enhancement PLUS L-theanine, an amino acid that has been extensively studied for depression, bi-polar, OCD and panic.
Better Sleep, More Energy: We heard from multiple customers that they could do without the melatonin, so we replaced it with vitamin D3 and vitamin B12. These two vitamins work together to promote better sleep quality and reduce fatigue.
Better Digestion: Fit is popular because of its ability to boost metabolism, decrease bloating and promote weight loss. We thought everyone might like those benefits, so we upped our DE111 in Mood so you feel lighter year round, especially as we enter a kitchen with heavier fare.
All of these powerhouse ingredients will help to reduce stress and anxiety, promote better sleep quality, improve digestion and decrease fatigue.
Backed by science
This is the part of our post where we put our lab coats on and talk about science (and not just because we think we look good in lab coats). Back in 2010, a study was conducted on the probiotic combination of Lactobacillus helveticus R0052 and Bifidobacterium longum R0175. Turns out, people participating in the study showed significant reductions in their cortisol levels… aka the body’s stress hormone.
Then, in another randomized double-blind study, participants taking this probiotic for 8 weeks saw a dramatic decrease in their Beck Depression Inventory score (a 21 question depression assessment).
We’re always going to remind you that there’s a direct correlation between gut health and mental health; like the fact that there’s a nerve that runs straight from the gut to the brain, or that 90% of your serotonin is in your gut. But these studies explicitly show a direct connection between the strains in Mood and improved mental health.
Ready for a better Mood?
We know that it’s been a tough year for pretty much everyone except for our dogs who have had us around for every minute… of every day… for 6 months… Some days, it may feel like you’re in more than just a “bad mood.”
This Mood formulation is our strongest one yet, and we know that it is strong enough to propel us through a depressing (yeah, we’ll say it) time like this.
Learn more about Mood here. If you have any questions, drop us a line – we’re looking for excuses to talk more about this formulation, anyway.
